Chapters 1-5:
Thomas has begun his new life. Once he was out of the lift, he was introduced to Alby, Newt, and the rest of the boys in the so called Glade. Alby, the leader, introduced Thomas to Chuck, who was to help him around the Glade that night. Thomas was the newbie to the Glade, and had already made an enemy, Gally. Gally swore he saw Thomas when he went through the changing. |
Chapters 6-10:
Newt woke Thomas up, to show Thomas what lies in the maze, the Grievers. Later an alarm sounds off, for another newbie. The lift shows up with a girl inside, who appears to be dead. They soon realize she is only in a coma when she wakes up only to read a message from the creators of the maze. The Med-Jacks soon take her to the homestead for care. Thomas later finds himself in the back of the Dead Heads where Ben, the sick boy, tries to end Thomas's life. |
Chapters 11-15:
Alby came with a bow and arrow to Thomas's rescue and shot Ben in the head. The next day the runner, Minho, collapsed from exhaustion, which makes Thomas worry that there is something wrong with him. The keeper of the runners, Minho, Came back early with stunning news. There was a dead Griever. Even more news came to Thomas, that Ben wasn't dead. Ben was going to be banished from the glade. Everyone gathered at the wall to watch the event. Ben's screams were cut off by the shut of the wall. Thomas, for the second night in a row, had a haunted vision of Ben Etched in his mind. |
Chapters 16-20:
Thomas spent the morning with the keeper of the gardens, Zart. Alby and Minho went after the dead Griever. That night, Newt waited for Alby and Minho to come back from the maze. Minho and Alby Rounded the corner towards the wall, which started closing. Thomas realized the Griever had got Alby. Thomas Slipped passed the wall to help them as it shut behind. Minho started running through the maze after confronting Thomas about his deed. Thomas hid Alby on the wall, tied with vines. A Griever found them And started to climb the wall. Thomas distracted the Griever's attention from Alby to himself and started running. |
Chapters 21-25:
Thomas meets up with Minho, and tricks the Grievers into going over the cliff, and they disappear. Thomas tells Minho what he did with Alby, and he's still alive. Alby started going through the changing. Newt called a Gathering to discuss Thomas, which Minho suggests that Thomas should be the keeper of the runners. Gally ended up leaving the Gathering, slamming the door behind him. |
Chapters 26-30:
Thomas was elected to become a runner, But he had to spend one day in the slammer for breaking the number one rule, going in the maze when the walls were closing. Alby tells Thomas that the girl and him worked with the creators, but couldn't go into detail about it because something was controlling him. The girl was on the edge of waking up from her coma and could talk to Thomas telepathically, which freaked Thomas out. She spoke her name, Teresa, in his mind. Thomas spent a day in the slammer, while Chuck talked to him. |
Chapters 31-35:
Thomas realized they had to be missing something about the maze, something they have never thought of before. Thomas went with Minho for his first time being a runner. Thomas found a sign which said, 'WORLD IN CATASTROPHY: KILLZONE EXPERIMENT DEPARTMENT'. Teresa triggered the ending. Teresa was waking up and she telepathically shouted that the maze was a code to Thomas. |
Chapters 36-40:
Teresa found Thomas in the back of the woods. She told him what she remembered and showed him her left arm, on which she wrote, 'WICKED is good'. The skies were gray and the walls didn't close, so they put Teresa in the slammer, since she said she triggered the end. Everyone crammed into the homestead for the night, with boarded up windows and doors. Gally was taken by the heard of Grievers, who Gally said would only kill one person per night. Someone Burned the map trunks that night. |
Chapters 41-45:
Minho and Newt hid the maps in the homestead, to keep them safe. When they put the maps of one day together, sure enough, it spelled the letter F. While Newt, Alby, and Teresa were finishing the rest of the maps, Minho and Thomas got ready to enter the maze. Thomas figured out, he was telepathic, too. Minho thinks the creators want them to know there is no way out of the maze. Thomas knew he had to be stung by a Griever to get his memories back. |
Chapters 46-50:
Thomas, that night, ran towards the Grievers, and they immediately swarmed him. Thomas went through the changing, and thoughts immediately flooded his mind, while everything else was pain. The maze couldn't be solved, but the creators meant for them to escape. Thomas called a gathering, and told them he was there when the maze was being created. Teresa and Thomas helped create the maze, against there will. The only way out is through the Griever Hole. |
Chapters 51-55:
Alby admitted to burning down the map room. The keepers agree that its better to fight the Grievers than to be picked off one by one. Newt decided it was best to go at night. Frypan prepared one last meal before going into the maze. Alby sacrifices his life to save the others, but it failed miserably. |
Chapters 56-60:
The Gladers made a path for Thomas and Teresa to get to the Griever hole. They got in the hole and entered the words and pushed the kill the maze button. they were getting ready to meet the people who did this to them, the creators. The creators used Gally to try to kill Thomas, but Chuck stepped in the way of the knife. Chuck Died. People burst into the room and shot the creator woman and lead them to a bus, to ride to safety. |
Chapter 61-Epilogue:
The rescuers told Thomas that they were apart of a study. Sickness fell upon the earth due to sun flares. The people fed them and gave them beds to sleep in. The rescue was apart of the plan, until the second part of the trial. |
